Marabú charcoal and tropical woods
Marabu Charcoal is traditionally produced from the branches and trunks of the wild and invasive mimosa-like Marabu bush.
Marabu (Dichrostachys cinerea) imported from Africa to the Caribbean in the 19th century is a plant that grows in the form of large bushes up to 10 m high. During the crisis of the 1990s in Cuba, many agricultural areas were fallow, "el Marabú" spread over vast distances. You will find Dichrostachys cinerea in the Global Invasive Species Datadase of the ISSG (Invasive Species Specialist Group), where all plants that must be cut down are listed.
For the reasons below, it is very suitable for the JOSPER charcoal oven, barbecues and open grills, parillas, etc.
